Our Response to COVID-19

Updated: April 5, 2020

Sizije has postponed retreats starting between March 31 and May 31, 2020

At Sizije, the safety of our travelers, experience leaders and team members is our top priority. With this in mind, we monitor world events very closely. Sizije makes operations decisions based on informed advice from a number of sources:

1. US Department of State

For any Sizije retreat, if the US Department of State advisory is at ‘Do Not Travel’ then Sizije will either cancel the trip, reroute the itinerary or postpone the trip for another date to avoid the areas concerned.

2. Partners + Experience Leaders on the ground

Sizije, has very close relationships with our partners and Experience Leaders on the ground in our destinations and we are in regular contact with them. Their in-depth knowledge and understanding of their various areas is vital.

3. Government travel advisories

Most countries’ governments provide their own travel advice. See below for links to some of the larger ones:

World Health Organization (WHO)

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE

Sizije has made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone all retreats departing between March 31 and May 31 due to the fast-evolving travel restrictions being implemented across destinations globally. This provides travelers with assurance and the flexibility to postpone their trip to be enjoyed fully at a later date. Currently, our retreats from June 1st, 2020 onward are operating as scheduled.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in these unprecedented times and we are communicating as efficiently as we can.We are urging patience as we work through this with you. Please read this FAQ document to find answers to your question before contacting our team.

Q: My retreat has been postponed – what happens?

A: If you have booked a retreat scheduled to depart between March 31, 2020 and May 31, 2020, you will be provided with a future travel credit valued at 100% of the price paid for your retreat. This travel credit will automatically be applied to your Sizije account and can be applied toward any Sizije retreat departing up to two years from the end of the month of your retreat’s postponement.

All of your payments are on file with Sizije. Sizije does not offer refunds on postponed retreats. Sizije does not offer refunds on postponed retreats.

Q: My retreat is beyond the postponement date – what happens?

A: If your retreat is set to depart outside the postponement window, and you cancel more than 90 days prior to departure, you can receive credit towards the payments that you have made, you can cancel in accordance with the regular Sizije terms and conditions and use that travel credit on file for use toward a future retreat as we have always allowed. We will continue to monitor developments and will be in touch with all registrants on a priority basis.

Q: WILL MY TRAVEL INSURANCE COVER ME IF I DECIDE TO TRAVEL?

A: Many travel insurance companies are not covering travelers if they decide not to travel because of Coronavirus risks. This is because Coronavirus is now considered a “known risk”, and travel insurance never covers “fear” as a reason to cancel a trip last minute. If you are worried about trip cancellation coverage because of the Coronavirus situation, we recommend purchasing or upgrading your current plan to a “cancel for any reason” travel insurance plan. These plans are typically more expensive, but will give you the most likelihood of coverage should any event prevent you from traveling with us. It is your responsibility to confirm your travel insurance coverage.

Q: WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY FLIGHT IS CANCELED DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS?

A: If your flight is cancelled due to COVID-19, you should contact your airline and travel insurance provider to discuss your travel options. Many airlines are rerouting flights to avoid affected areas and giving a 100% travel credit voucher if you choose to postpone your flight. If you are able to reroute, please share your new flight information with us.

Q: How can you contact Sizije?

A: Please note that you may experience a longer than usual response time. Thank you in advance for your patience as we work through this together.
